Japanese Confections

Japanese Confections

What do you think of when someone mentions Japanese sweets? Matcha flavored kit-kats? Wagashi are traditional Japanese confections and quite a bit different from other sweet bites you might find.

Made with all plant-based ingredients, wagashi are small bites usually produced to reflect the season and locale. If you have attended a tea ceremony, you have likely tried wagashi as they are paired with tea and are particularly good at balancing the bitterness of matcha.

During your stay around Kanazawa, you can participate in workshops to see and learn how these tasty treats are made.
