A local favorite for swimming and beach shenanigans, Uchinada Beach is the most accessible beach for those staying around Kanazawa. Just hop on the Hokuriku Tetsudo-Asanogawa Line for just over a half hour ride and either walk (about 20 minutes) or take a bus out to the seaside.
In the summer, Uchinada Beach is a popular spot for BBQ’s and just enjoying relaxing on a beach with the Sea of Japan at your feet. Little beach houses pop up along the beach, too, offering various local fare ranging from seafood to shaved ice.
Sunsets out at Uchinada are some of the best you’ll see around Kanazawa at any time of the year. The town of Uchinada even set up what has become a romantic spot near the beach: Sunset Bridge. From April to September around sunset until 9:00 pm, the bridge lights up and it’s easy to see why the area is considered a favorite date spot.
